Trick or Treat

For Halloween I thought I would make a quick trick (bad) or treat (good) list. Enjoy

Trick: Rainy fall days
Treat: Dry fall days

Trick: Yankees are in the World Series
Treat: Go Phillies!

Trick: Lost is not back on yet. How is the final season going to go down?
Treat: The thursday night shows have been great so far (Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, 30 Rock and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia). If you haven't seen any of these shows, you should, watch them on Hulu.

Trick: The Sounders tying last night
Treat: The Sounders are in the playoffs!

Trick: Auto-tune
Treat: The new Kings of Convenience album. How could anyone not like these guys?

Trick: This costume

Treat: This Halloween Costume

Trick: The plot for the new Avatar movie
Treat: the visuals for the new Avatar movie

Trick: Swine Flu (I haven't had it, yet)
Treat: Pork

Trick: The Seahawks season so far
Treat: Johjima left the M's to go play in Japan. Now we don't have to pay him anymore!

Trick: U2 still exists
Treat: Ricky Gervais is going to be hosting the Golden Globes

Happy Halloween!

A Web Site

Some people find this offensive, others find it funny.

I think its funny. It is amazing how many people really do act like this and don't realize how racist they really are.

Judge for yourself.

Where would you want to wake up tomorrow?

I don't know why, but I love this concept and this video. Plus, the music from Au Revoir Simone is perfect. Bonus points to any of our four readers who can figure out what movie the band's name is from.

Crazy Scary

Avalanche Skier POV Helmet Cam Burial & Rescue in Haines, Alaska from Chappy on Vimeo.

From the text accompanying the video:
This was a decent sized avalanche. 1,500 feet the dude fell in a little over 20 seconds. The crown was about 1 - 1.5m. The chute that he got sucked through to the skier's right was flanked on either side by cliff bands that were about 30m tall. He luckily didn't break any bones and obviously didn't hit anything on the run out.

He was only buried for 4 and a half minutes...

A Request

I received a request the other day to post this link to the Darwin Awards.

It is a website of the stupid ways people have accidentally killed themselves. It makes you appreciate being alive much more.

For example:

(January 2003, India) Regarding accidental deaths during the construction of a subway in New Delhi, the New York Times wrote, "One of those killed was an unlucky thief who tried to steal braces holding up a concrete slab; it fell and killed him."
