Jason Bourne in Iraq

This is what happens when I am up after 10pm.

This actually looks good to me but also totally ridiculous.

I guess this is only funny...

if you have seen Avatar.

Real Housewives of Orange County

I'll be honest, I have to watch Real Housewives of Orange County. I will also be honest, Project Runway is on at the same time every week and I do everything I can to make sure we watch that instead of the housewives show. Project Runway at least takes talent to succeed and blah blah blah. I have noticed a couple of things about Orange County though...

Doesn't she...

look like she...

and doesn't she...

look like it...

and doesn't she...

look like this camel...

This is what I think about when I watch Real Housewives of Orange County.

Thats a good shot

An Apology and Another Website

Dear Sarah (her name has been changed to protect her identity),

I apologize for writing about another blog and informing readers that they should peruse it without mentioning your fantastic website in the same breath. I will now try and make amends.

Sincerely,

Stefan

There is another website that I feel I should draw your attention to. It is written by a smart, sassy author who never fails to entertain. She does not post as often as some other sites but when she does it is pure gold. She tends to write a lot about Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia; those are two things that I like so I got no problem with that. Now if you don't like those two things then you are a bad person who has wrong opinions. Sarah also has one of the best website names on the world wide web. Check it out, you won't be sorry.

This kid has some serious issues. FIFA 09 is a pretty fun game though.

A Shout Out to Another Blog

While the SSHH is the greatest blog of this or any generation, there are also a select few other blogs that come close to the level of the SSHH. One of those blogs is Nuptial With Nelly. It is a young site that I am positive will mature into a well followed blog. Nuptials With Nelly is written by my friend Nelly, in case you couldn't figure out his name. I worked with him for a while in Steamboat Springs, CO and thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor and quick wit. It is nice to see that he is bestowing his talents to the internet as well. If you like this blog at all you will certainly enjoy his. Another nice thing about his blog is that he actually writes entries and doesn't just post videos. I will end this now so as not to appear to have a man crush...

Check it out:

On a different note; when I was 16 all I wanted to do was get my driver's license. This girl is looking way beyond that. Hope she makes it. Abby Sunderland

These guys are good at soccer

Those are two nice goals. I don't think Ronaldo deserved a red card for that though...

Haiti Pictures

We don't often post about anything of importance but it is unbelievable what has happened in Haiti. I just saw these pictures and thought I would add the link, it is so amazingly sad what has and is taking place there right now. Some of the images are thankfully blacked out (they have a link to open them, but I couldn't handle the thought of seeing those pictures). A picture truly is worth a thousand words.

This is kind of gory, sorry...but it also looks really funny

You know those movies about college kids going out in the woods and getting attacked by hillbillies? What if the story was told from the other side...and it was all a misunderstanding.

Jimmy Kimmel

I am not a big Jimmy Kimmel fan but I think he does a good job of putting Leno in his place. I hope Conan gets a show somewhere.

A Few Thoughts in Hawaii

I am on Oahu right now in Honolulu and have noticed a few things. These are just kind of random thoughts.

Hawaiian shirts: The only people who wear these are men over 45 and locals that work in restaurants. The difference between these two? The guys over 45 want to wear the Hawaiian shirt. The locals? They don't want to but have to if they want to make some tips at work. I am of taking something from David Sedaris' book When You Are Engulfed in Flames. David says that men who wear bow ties are fine, but they are making the public statement that they cannot get an erection anymore. I think this also works for Hawaiian shirts. An embarrassing admission, I used to wear Hawaiian shirts when I was like 12. This is embarrassing but I think kids can get away with most anything (smearing food all over their face, wearing a rival University sweatshirt, etc.)

Israel "Iz" Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole - Wonderful World: This is an absolutely beautiful song and Israel had an amazing voice. He was Hawaiian and is a state icon. This does not mean that this song should be played continuously in hotel lobbies. I have been here two days and have heard this song at least 6 times just in my hotel. Don't play the song so much that it becomes annoying.

ABC Stores: These are Hawaiian quickie marts and they are on every corner in Hawaii. Within two blocks from my hotel there are three of them. The have tons of souvenirs and knick knacks. ABC Stores also have beer and snacks so they are ok with me. Whenever I am in Hawaii I look for the ABC stores, it is a fun game to see how far apart they are from each other (one block? two blocks? 20 feet?).

Those are my thoughts. I am going to go to the beach now and drink a big fruity beverage with an umbrella in it.

I want to see this

There goes your boat...

On the Discovery channel there is a show called Whale Wars. It is about people who chase around Japanese whaling boats and try to stop them by throwing stink bombs at them and such. Recently one Japanese ship decided to ram the hippies and took off the front 10 ft of their boat. Now those hippies are really pissed! A funny little side note; the video was taken from the MV Bob Barker. They named the boat after Bob Barker because he made a huge donation to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Here is what the boat looked like afterwards.

The Wii

I got my lady friend a Wii for her birthday in the middle of December. The only Wii games we have is Wii Sport and Wii Fit. The great thing about the Wii though is that when you connect it to the internet you can then download original NES games for around 5 bucks. We have been playing Super Mario 3 a ton as that has always been her favorite video game. Today I purchased Punch Out and Zelda. It is amazing how many of the tricks and button combos are still in my brain. Would that be considered muscle memory? I mean I barely even have to think some of the time. My thumbs just know what to automatically do. Speaking of thumbs, they are getting sore from pushing the buttons so hard and often. It is kind of funny that I bought this brand new video game system and all it has been used for so far is games that are 20 years old. The Wii is pretty cool though.

Shutter Island

I just finished reading this book. Really really good. It was written by the author who also did Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone. I highly suggest you read it.

The film is directed by Martin Scorsese. Not too shabby.
